Praxis EMR is based on "Concept Processing" rather than templates and is designed for small and medium sized clinics in all specialties. Praxis learns from each physician to reflect individual styles of medicine. Praxis EMR includes functions for implementing and managing clinical practice guidelines. It is one of only 22 EMR/EHRs certified by the US Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT).

Praxis EMR generates patient encounter notes, prescriptions, handouts, procedure reports, admitting orders, letters to referring providers, and electronic super-bills. Praxis stores X-Rays, laboratory reports, EKGs, demographic information, medications, and everything normally kept in the patient record, taking a clinic paperless. Praxis also schedules patients, customizes health maintenance, sets reminders, generates flow charts, laboratory downloads and growth charts.
