product information
NextGen® EPM (Enterprise Practice Management system) and NextGen® EMR (Electronic Medical Records) are live in over 500 practices in the USA.

NextGen® EMR is a comprehensive system that facilitates clinical workflow and manages data related to patient care outcomes. System functionality includes:
  • checking for drug interactions;
  • maintaingin documentation and coding in compliance;
  • presenting and managing protocols;
  • providing alerts;
  • tracking and summarizing indicators.

    NextGen® EMR also interfaces with numerous labs, hospitals, and pharmacies, enabling providers to co-ordinate patient care beyond the examination room.

    The system's clinical Knowledge Base Model (KBM) enables a practice to go live quickly using NextGen® EMR. The KBM is a set of clinical templates, documents and configuration settings designed to include all the components necessary to document a patient encounter. The system administrator can edit, add, or hide templates according to the individual user's workflow.

    Specialty-specific knowledge bases (family practice/internal medicine, OBGYN, cardiology, orthopedics, ophthalmology and pediatrics) have been developed to meet the needs of single-specialty or multiple-specialty practices.

    "Isabel Healthcare and NextGen Healthcare Information Systems, Inc. have developed (late 2004) a web-based interface that allows NextGen EMR users to seamlessly and securely access Isabel’s ... diagnosis reminder system without having to re-enter clinical features.

    "Data in selected fields (age, gender, region and chief complaints/presenting complaints/problem list) on NextGen’s EMR are pre-assigned to Isabel obviating the need for a provider to re-enter data. All that a provider, in need of diagnoses decision support or knowledge, has to do is hit the Isabel differential diagnoses button on the NextGen EMR in the clinical workflow."
