A " Web tool that allows a health professional to project a woman’s individualized estimate of risk
for invasive breast cancer over a 5-year period and over her lifetime (to age 90)".
The tool calculates a risk profile for an individual based on responses entered for a series of risk factor-related questions
including:
"medical history of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) or lobular carcinoma in situ (LCIS), ...
age, age at menarche, age at first live birth, number of first-degree relatives (mother, sister(s), and/or daughters) with breast cancer,
number of previous breast biopsies (whether positive or negative), at least one biopsy with atypical hyperplasia."
"Other risk factors such as age at menopause, dense breast tissue on a mammogram, use of birth control pills or hormone
replacement therapy, high-fat diet, alcohol, physical activity, obesity, or environmental exposures are not included
in this risk assessment tool for two reasons: evidence is either not conclusive or researchers cannot accurately
determine how much these factors contribute to the calculation of risk for an individual woman."
