eRx NOW is a free (in the USA), web-based electronic prescribing system based on Allscripts’ EMR technology and made available by the National ePrescribing Patient Safety Initiative.

The goal of NEPSI is to make eRx a national system:   accessible - and desirable - to every physician in America .

Features include:

  • "Automatic population of Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) prescription history for the provider"
  • "Real-time connectivity with pharmacies for orders and refills"
  • "Instant checks on drug interactions, dosage levels and patient-specific factors including prior adverse reactions"
