description

PDR.net is a medical information portal for healthcare professionals offering access to drug, diagnosis and treatment information at the point of care via desktop, PDA and email.

PDR.net offers "19 specialty resource centers" (Allergy/immunology, cardiology, dermatology, diabetes/endocrinology, nephrology, neurology, pediatrics, psychiatry, pulmonology, rheumatology, urology, women's health) Planned resource centers: Gastroenterology, Hematology, Infectious disease, Ophthalmology, HIV/AIDS, Oncology and Orthopedics will be added.

PDR.net covers "seven to twelve of the most common medical conditions within [each] specialty. The resource centers include tailored multi-drug interaction checkers, a drug regimen tool, medical news feeds, conference information, monthly practice trends summaries, customizable patient education resources and Xpert Alerts – messages that alert users to relevant clinical trials, as well as new drug and drug treatment information such as new indications and interactions."

"PDR.net also features the largest online database of FDA-approved pharmaceutical label information from the Physicians' Desk Reference®".

Condensed versions of PDR.net clinical information (mainly sourced from Micromedex, another Thomson company) also are available on Thomson Clinical Xpert, a PDA-based application freely available to the same classes of health professional as PDR.net.
